How to set up Twitch stream alerts in Telegram

Before you start

• Sign in to the Twitch account you want to connect, or be ready to select it during authorization.
• Create a Telegram channel if you don't have one. You must have permission to add the bot as an administrator.
• Choose a channel for alerts. You can add more channels and groups later.

Step-by-step setup

1. Open the bot

   Open Streamozavr in Telegram and start the bot. On the first screen, select “See an example”, then “Set up alerts”.

2. Connect Twitch

   Select “Connect Twitch”, then “Open Twitch”. If Twitch asks for a code, enter the code from the bot's message and authorize the connection. Enter your password only on Twitch. Return to the chat and the bot will continue setup.

   Check the channel name on the “Twitch connected” screen. If it shows the wrong account, select “This isn't my Twitch account” and authorize the correct one.

3. Give the bot permission to post

   Open your Telegram channel → channel name → “Administrators” → “Add Administrator”. Find @streamozavr_bot and allow it to post messages.

4. Choose your channel in the bot chat

   After confirming Twitch, select “That's right, continue”, then “Choose channel”. Select your channel in the window that opens. If you don't see it, search by name. The bot checks its permissions and confirms the connection.

5. Wait for your next stream

   When you start a new stream, the bot posts an alert to the selected channel. It updates the same post as stream details change and adds a recap when the stream ends.

When the first alert appears

Finish setup before going live. If you're already streaming when you connect, the bot records the current stream without posting an alert halfway through it. Wait for your next new stream.

To try it before a real stream, select “See an example” in the bot. The demo does not post to your channel.

Troubleshooting

My channel isn't in the list

Check that you're a channel administrator and that the bot is an administrator with permission to post messages. Search for your channel by name in the selection window.

The wrong Twitch account was connected

Select “This isn't my Twitch account” on the confirmation screen. Sign out of the wrong Twitch account in your browser, then authorize again.

The Twitch code expired

Return to the chat and select “Get a new code”, then open Twitch again.

No alert after setup

Check that you've selected the correct destination in the bot and that it still has permission to send messages. If you connected during a stream, wait for your next new stream.
