How to set up Twitch stream announcements on Discord
Streamozavr posts announcements in a Discord text channel, updates the message during your stream and adds a summary when it ends. Connections and settings are managed in your account on the website.
Discord is in beta. If something goes wrong, contact support.
Before you start
- The Twitch account whose streams you want to announce.
- A Discord server and a regular text channel for announcements.
- A Discord account with Manage Webhooks permission in the chosen channel. If the server or channel is missing from the list, ask an administrator to check your permissions.
Your Streamozavr account has one Twitch channel shared by all destinations. You can connect up to three Discord channels, including channels on different servers.
Step-by-step setup
Sign in to Streamozavr
Open your account and choose an available sign-in method, such as VK ID or Yandex ID.
If you already use the Telegram bot, open My settings → Sign-in methods in the bot and add a website sign-in method. Then use the same service to open the account with your existing connections.
Connect Twitch
Select Connect Twitch and confirm on Twitch. Check the channel name when you return to Streamozavr. If the right Twitch channel is already connected, continue to the next step.
Add a Discord channel
In your account, open Destinations. Under Discord, select Add channel, then Continue in Discord.
On Discord, choose a server and text channel, review the permissions and confirm. Need a different Discord account? Sign in to it on Discord before connecting.
Enable announcements
When you return to the website, the channel settings open. Choose events, turn on Publish announcements and select Enable announcements.
A new connection starts paused. Saving other settings does not enable publishing.
Announcement settings
Open Destinations and select a Discord channel. Each channel has its own settings for:
- Stream-start announcements and updates when the title or category changes. Select at least one event to enable announcements.
- Announcement language: Russian or English.
- What happens to the message after the stream: delete it immediately, after a chosen delay, or keep it in the channel.
After changing settings, select Save changes. To stop sending announcements to this channel, turn off Publish announcements and save.
You can also replace the channel or remove the connection in settings. A replacement channel starts paused, so enable announcements again. Removing the connection does not delete the Discord channel or messages already sent.
When the alert appears
If stream-start announcements are enabled, a message appears the next time you go live after enabling announcements. You do not need to reconnect the channel before each stream.
Streamozavr updates the same message for the title and category changes you selected. When the stream ends, it adds the duration and average viewer count. If message deletion is enabled, the message is removed at the chosen time.
Check the latest delivery result under Last publication in the channel settings.
Troubleshooting
- The Discord server or channel is missing
- Check which Discord account you are signed in to and whether it has the required permissions. A regular text channel is required.
- The channel is connected but announcements are missing
- Check Twitch under Sources. Then open the Discord channel settings, choose events, turn on Publish announcements and save. For a go-live announcement, the stream-start event must be selected.
- I cannot add another channel
- You can connect up to three Discord channels per account. Use Replace channel in an existing channel's settings, or remove an unused connection.
- Discord has stopped receiving announcements
- Open the channel settings and check the latest publication result. If access to the channel has changed, check your Discord permissions or reconnect using Replace channel.
